Did you know, on this day (12 October) in 1962, The Beatles were one of the opening acts for a show headlined by Little Richard, in New Brighton? Me neither!

Here’s something else you might not know… Our very own Phill once had dinner with Paul McCartney! He doesn’t remember much about it, other than it being at Paul’s house in Peasmarsh, and it being vegetarian food. To give him his due though, he was only about 16 at the time and was invited along by someone he worked with at a record shop. The shop, Max Records, was a very interesting place to be for young Phill, he got to meet lots of famous people who came along to do record signings and meet fans. Amongst Phill’s favourites were Kim Wilde, The Tweets (who gave Phill a Cadbury’s Creme Egg!), Alison Moyet, Bucks Fizz and Sir Cliff Richard (twice!)
